ABOUT HAZLEMERE SCHOOL OF DANCING

Established over 40 years ago, Hazlemere School of Dancing offers a range of dance styles including Ballet, Tap, Modern, Pre-School Ballet and Adult classes. We follow the IDTA syllabus, offering exam sessions and multiple performance opportunities, including our biennial show at The Arts Centre Theatre.

Classes are run by experienced teachers and we aim to cater for all levels and abilities from age 3 upwards. Our Pre-School Ballet classes offer a great introduction to the technique of Ballet, through fun games and exercises, which help to develop rhythm, co-ordination, motor skills, social skills and confidence.

We are conveniently located at Hazlemere Community Centre, Rose Avenue; within walking distance of many local schools including Manor Farm, Hazlemere C of E and Sir William Ramsey. For more information, please 'Contact Us', or call  07868 767344.

PRINCIPAL

BA (HONS)

AIDTA BALLET

AIDTA & LIDTA FREESTYLE

Vicky has worked as a Freelance Dance Teacher and Choreographer for over 20 years. After attending Hazlemere School of Dancing as a child, she studied at the University of Chester gaining a BA Honours in ‘Dance Studies with Arts & Cultural Management’. Following her degree, Vicky trained at the Lynne Chilver School of Dance completing her IDTA dance teaching qualifications at Associate and Licentiate level. Since then, she has worked at a number of dance schools teaching Ballet, Tap, Modern, Freestyle and Street Dance.

Vicky continues to work at a number of Primary and Secondary schools around the Buckinghamshire and Berkshire area, where she teaches workshops, after-school clubs, INSET Training, GCSE Dance and BTEC Dance. In addition to this, Vicky helps to run and
organise an annual 'SEND Dance Festival' in partnership with South Bucks Sports Partnership and Sir William Ramsey School.

Since 2010, Vicky has also worked in the corporate sector, running dance sessions and demos for events such as company conferences, team building days and other social activities. In recent years, Vicky has worked with the WI on a number of occasions and also coached Ballet technique for national teams in Fencing and Irish Dance. Vicky is also a Wedding Dance Specialist and has choreographed hundreds of 'First Dances' over the years, as well as routines for hen dos, children's parties, flash mobs and awards ceremonies.

In 2014, after 10 years of teaching at HSD, Vicky took over the running of the school from Sue Winfield. Since then, she has introduced new classes and welcomed many new pupils. Vicky hopes to continue to develop HSD, whilst still maintaining the school's high standards, tradition and ethos. She hopes to keep inspiring pupils (young and old) to continue their dance journey through their classes at HSD.
